At the root of our efforts is a dedicated team of professionals. Led by our Food Safety and Quality Program Manager, Polly Tartaro, her passionate team understands that their task is not merely to produce the #1-selling gourmet brownie in the country but to protect the well-being of consumers. 

"Food safety is assessing the risks and possibilities of what can go wrong," Polly said.  

And she couldn't be more right. When crafting a product with food safety in mind, team members must be vigilant about potential hazards and take preemptive action to prevent harm. This vigilance is something the entirety of Killer Brownie® takes on, and it's rooted in the care and respect we have for consumers. 

Science and Diligence 
The pursuit of food safety is a harmonious blend of science and diligence. Rigorous testing is at the heart of this process, with regular assessments conducted within the facility and on the products themselves. To maintain transparency and impartiality, these tests are outsourced to third-party laboratories, ensuring that our high standards are upheld without compromise. 

One aspect of the safety protocols is temperature management. Certain temperatures kill potential threats, like salmonella, so each brownie is baked above these temperature thresholds. In addition to strict baking temperatures and rigorous sanitation protocols, Killer Brownies® are passed through a metal detector before being packaged for customers. 

Always Audit-Ready 
While our commitment to food safety keeps us audit-ready at all times, the driving force is not the audits themselves. The paramount goal is to make food safe. Our dedication is not an external response but an intrinsic principle that infuses every aspect of Killer Brownie® operations.
