Sign on the (DOT)ted Line: A Look at Our Partnership with Dot Foods

Killer Brownie’s® partnership with Dot Foods makes going gourmet easier for retailers and distributors across the country.

We’ve got exciting news: Killer Brownie® is now available in Dot Foods!

Before this partnership, distributing to smaller retailers was a challenge. Our gourmet brownies are in high demand, and logistically, it took a lot of work for us to connect with specific customers and distributors.

With Dot Foods, our reach is greatly expanded! This partnership allows us to ship as little as one case to chain accounts nationwide. It solves our logistic challenges and provides more retailers with our best-selling products.

In this blog post, we’ll dive into how a partnership with Dot Foods improves our capabilities to better serve you and its benefits for customers.

Who is Dot Foods?

Dot Foods is the leading food redistributor in North America. With over 15 distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, Dot Foods enhances their customers’ effectiveness with their redistribution model. They’re able to handle and ship less-than-truckload deliveries, allowing industry professionals to diversify their menus and optimize the supply chain with access to more products—no minimums required.

Dot solves the expensive inefficiencies of the traditional supply chain model by becoming the middleman as a redistributor. They buy full truckloads of product from manufacturers and then redistribute the product to distributors. This allows companies to purchase the amount of product that fits their needs, even if it’s less-than-truckload. This supply chain model can reduce cost for buyers and maximize delivery efficiency for Foodservice, retailers, and industrial businesses.

Dot & Killer Brownie®: How It Works

Killer Brownie® is now partnered with Dot Foods, joining the other 1,500 manufacturers Dot works with. Their partnership makes shipping logistics much easier to handle; Dot will pick up our product and store it at their Mt. Sterling location. From there, cases of products are sent to their distribution centers across the country. Other distributors and wholesalers can purchase Killer Brownies® directly from Dot Foods in the amount that works best for them. This connects us to more customers than ever before by broadening our accessibility and allowing customers to buy as little as one case of product at a time.

Making Brownies More Accessible for Customers

Our inclusion in the Dot Foods’ distribution network will positively impact our capability to provide products for customers. Most notably, it will significantly expand our reach and allow distributors access to a large portfolio of products.

“At the NRA trade show, 75% of the customers that come by [our booth] ask if we’re in Dot Foods,” Mark Budd, Director of Sales, said. “That’s simply due to the nature of our product line, but it also speaks to the power of our products—they’re all looking for it, and now we have that avenue.”

Dot offers the ability to purchase products with no minimum. You’ll see an increase in inventory flexibility as you can now order the amount of product you need rather than having to meet our minimum and weight requirements.

Dot also offers weekly deliveries in every market, decreasing the time between ordering and delivery; you can expect to receive your shipment within two to four days rather than the usual 21-day lead time.
